Description/Job Summary

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Primary position for a Junior Tririga Application Developer (Assistant IT Developer) supporting a technology solutions deliverable located in DC.

Opportunity to work within a professional and diverse team of 15-25 person technology unit supporting the common IT + Facilities goals & objectives for a large, very dynamic, Federal Agency.  The project involves supporting, staffing and managing a large portfolio for facilities and IT. Agency is involved in strategic expansion efforts and technology will play a key role in managing a successful expansion.

Responsibilities/Duties

A junior software developer works on a development team writing and maintaining code for computer applications. As a junior software developer, your primary responsibilities are to learn the codebase, work on small bug fixes, and participate in paired programming with mid-level and senior developers. Junior software developers are entry-level positions, but as you gain experience and build up your programming skills, you will start to take on larger projects. Your job duties include attending and contributing to development team meetings, troubleshooting, patching computer code, and collaborating with other developers to create applications.

  • Assists in the design, coding, and testing of technical solutions.
  • Understands standard systems development lifecycle processes and applies our methodology effectively on client engagements.
  • Applies knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.

  • Adheres to coding standards defined by technical management.

Required Skills

Technical Competencies

Tactical

  • Basic knowledge in TRIRIGA Platform and application
  • Experience in application development including IDE or GUI based programming tools
  • Experience in Evaluating customer requirements and technical designs to perform development and testing activities.
  • Experience in and ability to work with multiple internal and external organizations to resolve technical and other customer related problems, multitask, meet deadlines and set priorities.
  • Basic knowledge in reporting tools such as Crystal and BIRT.
  • Basic knowledge in relational database administration DBA skills and SQL.

Communication

  • Clearly articulate ideas and thoughts verbally.
  • Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.

Relational Databases

  • Understands basic relational database concepts.

  • Possesses working knowledge of at least one structured programming language.
  • Exhibits proficiency in HTML and one scripting language.

Required Education

Associate's Degree in Computer Drafting and Design Technology or Applied Sciences plus 2-3 years minimum experience, inclusive of College/University experience.

Preferred Education

Associate of Sciences or Bachelor of Science.
