Description/Job Summary

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Senior Accountant.  The position will be a member of the Finance team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company‚Äôs accounts payable and receivables, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in daily data entry processing. This position will impact a rapidly growing organization and offers career development opportunities for the right candidate.

  • Assists in the review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations for revenue, accruals, receivables, prepaid expenses, payroll, and fixed assets

  • Reconciles sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition compliance in accordance with GAAP, TDR, and DCAA compliance

  • Assists with IFF fee reporting and payments

  • Assists in managing job cost expenses and reports for review with project managers monthly

  • Assist in updating maintaining GL information for external reporting purposes as needed

  • Assists with the AR process and client information files

  • Manages the AP process and vendor information files

  • Assists as liaison to external auditors and other external agencies

  • Assists the Controller in overseeing monthly close activity

  • Works on efforts to improve and document existing processes

Required Education

A minimum of a BA/BS degree plus six (6) years of experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Six  years of experience in accounting

  • Extensive experience in Deltek Costpoint and ISolved

  • Working knowledge of GAAP, PR, GSA, FAR and DFARS requirements

  • Working knowledge of federal, state and SCA regulations

  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel

  • Strong work ethic and team player with a high degree of professionalism

  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management

  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
