Description/Job Summary

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Senior Engineer (Electrical Engineer).  The successful candidate will provide Electrical Engineer Services on Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Langley Air Force Base (LAFB), Virginia (VA) in a manner that shall ensure continuous and reliable service.  

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Electrical Engineer shall, at a minimum:

  • Work with Project Managers to ensure proper integration of electrical services for all projects.
  • Coordinate project requirements with the end user, Air Force staff agencies, Contracting Squadron, and CES leadership to ensure proper implementation of required services.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all instructions outlined in the 32 series Civil Engineer AFIs.
  • Be responsible for the design, procurement and implementation of all assigned projects.
  • Provide Technical Solutions, Independent Government Cost Estimates for electrical engineering materials and services by others as well as Technical Reviews for assigned projects.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
The Electrical Engineer shall, at a minimum:
  • Be responsible for the design, procurement and implementation of all assigned project’s electrical requirements.
  • Validate the requirements for proposed design/construction projects through consultation with program officials in customer organizations.
  • Engineer technical solutions for electrical systems designs to include life cycle management, preventive maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Research for any needed technical solutions and respond accordingly.
  • Interact with A/E firms providing project direction, project decisions, project feedback, project coordination, project scheduling, and project final approval/recommendations.

Required Education

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum.  

In addition to the education requirement the candidate must also demonstrate specialized facility design experience. 

 Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification desired.
