Description/Job Summary

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Program Manager.  The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the A-E Environmental IDC, including quality control of all deliverables. A Program Manager with a current professional registration (PE and/or PG) and possession of a PMP, while not required, is preferred. Experience with the Formerly Used Defense Site Program (FUDS), Army or Air Force Installation Restoration Program (IRP), and other Federal agencies is also preferred. 

  • Experience with managing contracts, including planning, coordinating, and making decisions on cost, technical approach, schedules, performance metrics, quality control, personnel management, and client care.
  • Responsible for understanding company financial accounting, contract requirements, development of cost estimates, and budget adherence, monitoring, control, and reporting.
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires business development support and supporting the technical and cost proposal development.

Required Education

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Engineering, or related field preferred.   

In addition to the education requirement, the successful candidate must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years professional experience, of which five (5) years shall be as a Program Manager of complex environmental projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Environmental Policy and Regulations to include but not be limited to NEPA, RCRA, and CERCLA
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and logical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in MS Office 2010 or better required
  • Extensive experience in project planning and management skills
  • Collaborative personality enjoys and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced and sometimes unstructured environment
  • Translates complex ideas into processes and tactical plans
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation
